Annual Dinner - The Annual Dinner, held during the last week in February, is a chance for the Chamber to show its appreciation to all of the Chamber members. This is a chance for Chamber members to meet other Chamber investors, the Board of Directors and Staff. Awards are handed out throughout the evening to recognize outstanding people in Shelby County. The Dinner also allows Chamber members to find out what the Chamber's initiatives are for the coming year.
Trade Fair - The Trade Fair is held every April. Chamber Members are able to set up booths in order to allow the community to learn more about their business. The Trade Fair is also a great opportunity for Chamber members to network with other businesses.
Cash Bash - The Cash Bash is held every year during the last week in April. Tickets must be purchased in order to enter the Cash Bash. A total of
200 tickets are sold. Throughout the night tickets are drawn at random and prizes are awarded based on the order they are drawn. The last ticket drawn wins $10,000 cash! While you are waiting you might want to do a little gambling, eat some hors d'oeuvres, or have a drink, which is all included in the purchase of a ticket for
$200.
Golf Scramble - The Annual Golf Outing is held in August. This is a chance for fellow chamber members to get together while enjoying a friendly game of golf. Hole contests are held to challenge each individual golfer. Prizes will be awarded, and raffle items will be given away. Bragging rights and a traveling trophy are the top prizes to "putt fore." The day is then finished off with a dinner.
Public Relations - Responsibilities include setting monthly Networking Luncheons and meet on a monthly basis. Public Relations helps to market all aspects of the Chamber through groundbreaking ceremonies, ribbon cuttings, website, maps, Quality of Life brochure, "Directions Page", etc.
Board of Directors - Seventeen directors from five different divisions of the Chamber, make up this board. They oversee and guide the Chamber staff. Three representatives each from Retail, Industrial, Financial, Professional, Service, At-Large, one Shelby County Development Corporation Representative and one Morristown Chamber Representative make up the Board of Directors. These members meet once a month and are also required to attend and support all Chamber functions.
Ambassadors -Ambassadors of the Chamber are a very important part of the membership cultivation program. Ambassadors are selected on the basis of their interest, dependability, integrity, energy, and communication skills. The job of Ambassadors is to provide a communication link between our membership and the Chamber. It is the roll of an Ambassador to promote membership and encourage participation of members to attend Chamber functions, greeting members at Chamber events and performing other goodwill projects of the Chamber as determined by the Ambassador Club.
