Shelby County offers a rich technology source unlike any other.    Our Intelliplex Park offers low cost fiber optic connectivity.  It is a cornerstone in Shelby County and Central Indiana’s economic development strategy.  It is designated as an Indiana Certified Technology Park (CTP).  This designation creates a mechanism to capture 100 percent of state income and sales taxes generated by businesses located in the park.  The CTP program allows Intelliplex to stay current with new technical developments and maintain its position as Indiana’s most technically advanced life sciences park.   

The Shelby County Fiber Optic Board, a local government agency, owns the fiber optic lines between Intelliplex and the Point of Presence (POP) broadband connection in Indianapolis.  This offers a low cost bandwidth connection option as an attractive incentive.  The connection also gives residents the ability to bundle and negotiate with all major telecommunication carriers for the lowest cost services.
